News Release: August 2, 2019 New Shuswap Trails ready to explore   The Shuswap, British Columbia – Summer trail crews and stewards have been working hard in the Shuswap. And their labours are once again bearing fruit. New trails have shown up in the South Canoe trail system east of Salmon Arm, and the new Rocky Road addition has been opened on the hillside east of the Village of Chase with much cheering from local trail champions.

The Shuswap Trail Alliance received a BC Rural Dividend Program grant of $100,000 on behalf of regional partners supporting development of new recreational greenway trails this year.   "We are so grateful to everyone who helped raise funds during our annual February fundraiser," says Rob Marshall, Chair of the Shuswap Trail Alliance.

News Release: January 16, 2018 (Updated January 31, 2018) Sicamous-to-Armstrong Rail-Trail takes a giant step forward   The Shuswap, British Columbia – The Regional District of North Okanagan and the Columbia Shuswap Regional District have successfully concluded the purchase of the the CP Rail Corridor between Sicamous and Armstrong. Working in partnership, Splatsin and the regional municipal governments - along with 1/3rd Provincial funding support announced earlier in the spring by MLA Greg Kyllo and former Minister of Transport, Todd Stone - were able to successfully issue a recent news release announcing the corridor has been purchased and will be "used for recreational opportunities, including walking and cycling, while retaining it for future transportation and economic development needs.
